Owner's Project Controller / Asset Manager for a new Electric Generation Plant - East Coast

Responsible for accounting and cost control functions during the construction of a large electric generating plant. After construction completion, will be responsible for facility / investment asset management.  The plant completion date will be during 2012. This is a well compensated position with a progressive power plant developer and owner.  Will manage all aspects of accounting, cost control, bank relationships and ultimately asset management for this financed project.      

Requires a relevant college degree. An MBA or a CPA would be a plus. Must have ten years experience with large industrial project construction accounting and cost control. Experience with project owners and lenders. Well developed communication and presentation skills. Procurement and contract administration knowledge desirable. Skilled in MS Office and various accounting, cost control, project tracking and scheduling applications. Energy sector or Power sector experience a plus.

Outage Planning Manager - Power Company, Electric Generating Plants

Supports power plant operating and maintenance teams in planning for major scheduled outages. Develops work activity plans and resource loaded schedules, ensures that inventories support work plans, and labor resources will be in place for outage starting dates. Will handle logistics for the acquisition and repair of parts and equipment.  Supervises work packages for implementation, tracking and close-out. Trains others who are involved with outage planning and tracking. Estimated travel 50%.  

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and / or  five years of relevant outage planning experience. Extensive knowledge of planning and scheduling (Primavera, MS Project) techniques and systems. High degree of computer application skills generally used for outage planning and tracking; MS Office etc. Must have knowledge of safety protocols including locking out equipment, hot work, and confined space. Prefer candidates who have worked in power plants and have planned significant scheduled outages. Candidates may come from regulated utilities, independent power companies, EPCs / A&Es, OEMs, or consulting firms. 

Financial Analyst - Power Sector

An integral member of development and operating teams engaged in power plant business development, M&A and asset management. Responsibilities include financial analysis, valuations, modeling, due diligence, variance analysis, forecasting, writing information memorandums and Board approval justifications, preparing and delivering management presentations, and helping identify / qualify investment opportunities.

Requires BS and MBA Degrees in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Operations Research. Two to ten years experience as an Energy or Power Sector financial analyst and modeler.  Must have well developed modeling skills with an emphasis on valuation techniques and developing pro forma economics. Experience with Hyperion Strategic Finance is desired. Requires strong communication skills and ability to support the preparation of Board approval packages. Should have relevant work experience involving  investments / assets in the energy and power markets.

Plant Manager - Hydroelectric Generating Facility

Will be responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a large hydroelectric generating plant located in the western USA. Facility is in a country setting in a fairly remote location. Employer provides subsidized housing located close to the plant. This is a permanent payroll position with great long-term prospects, above market compensation, generous benefits and relocation assistance. Ideally suited to candidates who like national park-like settings.   

Requires a BS in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Also requires hydroelectric O&M experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager or O&M Manager. Must be experienced in O&M from A to Z including community and regulatory relations. This is a must-run facility on the grid and requires a high degree of management competency.  

Owner's Project Manager for Wind and Solar Energy Power Plants -  East Coast

Responsible for supporting new project development and execution of renewable energy power plants including wind and solar. Will support business development initiatives during the project development phase. Also responsible for assuring that projects are built and managed in accordance with project agreements, budgets and schedules, regulatory requirements, and performance specifications. This is a well compensated position with a progressive power plant developer and owner.    

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering. An MBA / MS is a plus. PMI certification is a plus. Must have extensive relevant power industry experience in Project Management. Prefer candidates with Wind or Solar project experience but open to candidates with CTCC, Coal, Geothermal etc. project experience. Typical candidates may come from Power Generation Companies engaged in developing and building power plants, EPC / A&E firms, and OEMs. 

Project Development Engineer for New Power Plants - East Coast

Will support project development and project management teams engaged in developing and constructing electric generating plants of various designs, both thermal and renewable energy. Projects are all in the USA. Functions include conceptual design, heat balance, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, input to EPC specs and bid documents. Support for plants under construction and some contract management.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. A PE or MS is a plus. Must have extensive relevant power industry experience in project engineering. Prefer candidates with both thermal and renewable energy power plant design experience. Typical candidates may come from Power Generation Companies engaged in developing and building power plants, EPC / A&E firms, Engineering and Consulting firms, and OEMs. 

Performance Engineer - Power Company, Electric Generating Plants

Supports power plant operating teams on a variety of plant performance initiatives. Will analyze plant thermal performance using sophisticated data collection and modeling systems. Enhances thermal analysis procedures and develops recommendations for improving plant thermal performance. Supports plant decision making involving investments in plant and equipment to improve efficiency and reliability. Oversees plant testing programs and manages the database for archived test results. Supports business development teams by running thermal models for the bidding process. Estimated travel 20%, some overnights.  

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Must have extensive relevant power plant experience in Performance Engineering.  Requires detailed knowledge of power plant thermodynamics including calculations, testing, methods, and ASME PTC 6, 22, 46 etc. Ability to write technical reports, correspondence, and procedures. Candidates may come from regulated utilities, independent power companies, EPCs / A&Es, OEMs, or consulting firms.
