Lead Greenfield Business Developer - Renewable Energy Power Projects, Wind and Solar Emphasis - Utility Scale A number of openings for experienced Business Developers with USA domestic experience. Will have A to Z responsibility for identifying, developing, and closing greenfield power projects. Responsible for leading teams engaged in expanding the employer’s generating asset base. Technologies include wind, solar, geothermal and bio-fuels with a significant emphasis on utility-scale wind and solar projects. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, an MBA or equivalent is preferred. Must have a minimum of two years leadership experience in greenfield power project development, all aspects from concept to financial closing. Must have a track record as a lead developer for renewables energy projects. Lead Regulatory Manager - Avoided Cost Group Will supervise and direct regulatory and avoided cost analysts. Develop policy positions for avoided cost and cost effectiveness including QF and demand side issues. Actively lead and perform analysis / modeling required to evaluate internal and external policy issues related to avoided cost. Communicate the results and conclusions of studies. Requires technical expertise in all aspects of the modeling, evaluation and calculation of avoided costs as related to generation, transmission and distribution. Strong analytical skills, ability to solve abstract problems and a strong knowledge of economics. Strong communications skills with the ability to explain complicated technical analysis to non-experts. Strong leadership qualities needed to supervise and manage analysts in the group. Familiarity with issues associated with regulated utilities in the current competitive environment. An advanced Degree in Economics, Business, or Finance. At least five years of experience working in a policy analysis setting.
Plant Manager -
Operations and Maintenance - Electric Generation Candidates should have a BS in a relevant discipline or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience. Requires plant management experience involving O&M for electric generating plants employing rotating equipment including reciprocating engines / diesel generators. Employer is well established with competitive pay and a generous benefits package including relocation support. Acquisition and Investment Lead, Sr. Level, NY Tri-state Region Combustion Turbine Power, Wind Energy, and Natural Gas Investments Will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing power project and natural gas acquisitions / equity investments. The most important function will be front-end identification and preliminary screening of equity investment opportunities. Investments are typically not leveraged, all cash transactions. In addition, this is not a greenfield BD position, strictly M&A and equity investment Origination. Employer is offering a one year full-time contract with an option to renew. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. MBA a plus. Must have a minimum of five years leadership experience in power project acquisitions and investments with a strong Origination focus. Combustion turbine, coal-fired, wind energy and natural gas investment experience preferred. Candidates may come from I-banks, private equity firms, energy companies, consulting firms or OEMs. Engineering Manager – HV Electric Transmission System Projects Regional office based position responsible for managing engineering functions, both internal and subcontracted, for the design, engineering and construction of High Voltage Electric Transmission projects involving overhead lines and substations. Responsible for the full-range of engineering functions. Will not be mobilized to construction sites but will visit sites for reviews and meetings. An electrical or civil engineering degree is required. Must have a minimum of five years experience in power project engineering management, preferably involving high voltage electric transmission projects including substations and overhead lines.
Materials Manager -
Power Project Construction Utilize and administrate barcode technology to track materials and generate reports. Verify bills of lading, issue receiving reports, and support accounting and cost reporting requirements. Issue exception reports and coordinate solutions. Close-out and authorize vendor payments. Work closely with project team members to assure availability of materials / equipment consistent with the project construction schedule. Candidates should have a BS in a relevant discipline or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience. Basic knowledge of electrical T&D system components, inventory management, inventory accounting, and an understanding of construction practices is required. Must be able to use MS Office applications, tracking software and to understand critical path schedules. Project Engineer – HV Electric Transmission System Projects Regional office based position responsible for providing project engineering support for the design, engineering and construction of Electric Transmission projects involving overhead lines, high voltage substations and switchyards. Responsible for the full range of engineering functions with a focus on the pre-construction and construction phases. Will not be mobilized to construction sites but will visit sites for reviews and meetings. Employer subsidizes relocation. An engineering degree is required in either electrical or civil engineering. Must have a minimum of three years experience in power project engineering preferably involving HV voltage systems, primarily substations. Cost Control Manager – Electric Transmission Construction Projects Regional office based position responsible for managing the cost control function within a Project Controls Group. Performs earned value analysis, monthly variance analysis and updates cost-to-complete and cash flow forecasts. Provides input to monthly progress reports. Manages cost control staff. Holds cost meetings with suppliers and attends cost review meetings with clients. Reports to the Project Business Manager at the same location. Will not be mobilized to construction sites but will visit sites for reviews and meetings. Will have a four-year degree in Accounting, Engineering or Construction Management or an equivalent combination of education / training and related experience. More than five years experience in cost control for large infrastructure construction projects, preferably in the Power Sector. Must have excellent PC skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SureTrack/P3. Must have experience in managing Cost Review meetings with clients and suppliers.
